Scholarships Provide Funds for Patients and Families Submissions Due By April 5, 2006 North Adams, March 14—Recognizing the importance of patients and their families in patient safety initiatives, the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF) is seeking applications for scholarships that support the participation of patients and families at the 8th Annual NPSF Patient Safety Congress to be held May 11-12th in San Francisco, CA. NPSF expects to award scholarships to a minimum of three patients and family members. The scholarship includes:
"Patients and families play a vital role in our efforts to create safer healthcare environments,” said Diane C. Pinakiewicz, NPSF President. “The participation of patients and families in this hallmark patient safety event is critical to achieving our goal of reducing medical errors and improving the safety of patient care." In order to qualify for the scholarship, applicants must be affiliated with a community-based, non-profit consumer organization that promotes patient safety and submit a 250 word essay that describes their organization‘s mission and goals, their role or affiliation with the organization, and how attendance at the Congress will benefit their organization. The deadline for applications is April 5, 2006, and the selected candidates will be notified by April 10, 2006. |
