Continuing Education Accreditation for Nurses, Pharmacists, Physicians and Risk Managers
The Annual NPSF Congress is certified for continuing education credit by the providers listed below. In order to be eligible for credit, attendees must complete all applicable evaluation, attendance, and CE request forms provided at the Congress. These materials and corresponding instructions for submission will be provided with your registration materials. Please note that the eligible contact hours, the requirements for credit and the methods of submission vary for each accreditation provider.
Nurses
Contact hours will be awarded to nurses who participate in the conference.
The American Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
ANA is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP6178.

Pharmacists
The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. The programs identified with an ACPE Program Number are cosponsored by ASHP and will provide continuing pharmacy education credit for the number of hours indicated. Pharmacists may earn up to 17.0 contact hours (1.70 CEUs) at the 2008 NPSF Annual Patient Safety Congress and should request CE only for the sessions they attended. Pharmacists seeking CE credit hours must either complete their CE request online and print their CE statements immediately or complete the CE Request Form onsite. NPSF will submit the completed CE Request Forms to ASHP for processing. ASHP will mail validated Statements of Continuing Pharmacy Education within six to ten weeks after the Congress. Instructions to process CE online will be provided onsite.
Physicians
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM) and NPSF. ACPM is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. ACPM designates this educational activity for a maximum of 16.75 Category 1 credits toward the American Medical Association (AMA) Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA)TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Risk Managers
The Congress programs have been approved for a total of 8.75 contact hours of Continuing Education Credit toward fulfillment of the requirements of ASHRM designations of FASHRM (Fellow) and DFASHRM (Distinguished Fellow) and towards CPHRM renewal. Continuing education credits are provided in contact hours, in compliance with FASHRM, DFASHRM, and CPHRM renewal application requirements.
